Housing 21 wanted to enhance it’s already established property improvement project management by using a modern cloud-based technology that could be used across multiple device platforms to enable it to more accurately track projects to improve the quality of living for its residents.


To support Housing 21’s vision of modernising their ways of working, a fast and effective way of building new applications was required – one which could replace some of the older solutions which were facing going out of support, and also setting up the organisation with a platform which would continue to support them for the future.

One of the biggest challenges was developing a replacement solution while considering the requirements for migrating existing data, all of which required considerable planning, design, and configuration. With the country’s lack of Power Platform knowledge, the project would have been extremely difficult to complete on schedule and within budget.

At the start of the project, Housing 21 also lacked internal resources with Microsoft platform-specific knowledge, so it opted to source a partner capable of delivering the project within the needed timescales.


Housing 21’s search focused on securing a Power Platform development partner that could lead their transformation into this new technology, and deliver a solution which would meet their growing requirements.

We delivered a full Microsoft Power Platform solution that used Dataverse and Model-Driven apps to provide the data input, validation, storage and reporting for all areas of the projects. This included the following steps:

Detailed discovery processes to understand not only the data but also the people and processes which surrounded it
Creation of the Dev, Test, and Production environments to support good Application Lifecycle Management.
Design, and development of the data model which supported the creation of a solution
Design and development of the Model-Driven app to provide users with an easy-to-use way to manage their data
Design and development of the automated workflows to manage the approvals, and flows of data into the database
Deployment of the solution into development, test and production environments to maintain good application lifecycle processes.
